Meet the Owner

Owner Emilie has always loved fashion and was inspired to open her shop after helping her best friend find a used wedding gown in Seattle. Noticing a lack of similar services in the Bay Area, she set out to create her own consignment boutique.

In April 2011, Emilie opened a small storefront on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, California. The following year, Emerald City Gowns moved to the Fourth Street Shopping district. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we relocated to a larger space to accommodate more off-the-rack gowns and ensure socially distanced fitting rooms.

Now, we're back on San Pablo Avenue, just one block from where it all began!

    Highly motivated and professional, she has great style and makeup skills. She’s made her way to Emerald City Gowns originally from Mililani, HI but home is with her wife, The Raspy Dispatcher and her fur babies, Chappell, Midnight and High Noon.

    She / Her

    All the way from Honolulu, HI, Aliyah has joined the ECG as our walk-in stylist. She enjoys fashion from various decades and aspires to be an editor and chief of a major fashion magazine. In her free time you can find her picking flowers for leis or thrifting in the city.
