We aimed to reinvent the traditional bridal salon experience, offering you the option to leave today with a designer gown in-hand or order a custom, made-to-order gown from an affordable atelier.
Owner Emilie has always loved fashion and was inspired to open her shop after helping her best friend find a used wedding gown in Seattle. Noticing a lack of similar services in the Bay Area, she set out to create her own consignment boutique.
In April 2011, Emilie opened a small storefront on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, California. The following year, Emerald City Gowns moved to the Fourth Street Shopping district. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we relocated to a larger space to accommodate more off-the-rack gowns and ensure socially distanced fitting rooms.
Now, we're back on San Pablo Avenue, just one block from where it all began!
