Newlywed? Earn money by selling your wedding gown. Our thriving consignment department attracts well over two hundred serious buyers each month, ensuring we have the resources to find the perfect bride to purchase your gown.

Here’s our simple THREE STEP process to sell your gown at Emerald City Gowns —

Apply

Is your beautiful gown ready for resale at Emerald City Gowns? To apply use the application form on this page.

How we select gowns for resale: if the gown has been worn, it must be professionally cleaned before it will be considered for consignment. There is no need to pay extra to have your gown "preserved" in a box. Proof of professional cleaning may be required. May we recommend Norge Cleaners located on San Pablo Avenue, in the city of Albany.

Sell

After your gown has been preapproved for consignment, we will request you bring it to Emerald City Gowns. Together we will then determine the initial resale price of the gown based upon its condition, original retail price, age and style.

Please refer to our checklist below for information pertinent to consignors.

Earn

Our bridal specialists will go to work for your gown, finding one lucky bride and giving your gown an opportunity to wow another wedding party. Upon selling you will be contacted promptly and issued payment for 50% of the sale price. We look forward to doing business with you.

CHECKLIST, important requirements.

APPLICANTS

— Whether or not your gown has been worn, it must be no more than 3 years old.
— Couture gowns, originally priced $3,500 or higher may be accepted up to 5 years old.
— Custom created gowns are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Please call ahead (510) 725-7771.
— We do accept veils and hair accessories in exceptional condition.
— We do not accept fine jewelry or shoes.
— Gowns ordered online from "discount designer dress makers" are generally not accepted.
— We are no longer accepting vintage gown. May we recommend Faun Eyes Collection (North Bay).
— We are no longer accepting gowns from David's Bridal due to frequent fluctuation in price and availability.


CONSIGNORS 

— You will be named consignor. The owner of Emerald City Gowns will be named consignee.
— We will not purchase your gown directly from you.
— Our consignment agreement is valid for 6 months.
— If the gown has not sold in 6 months together we will decide to either lower the price, or you may pick it up.
— There is an upfront, one-time-fee of $10 per consignment.
— We employ profit sharing model, meaning we will issue payment to the cosigner, exactly 50% of the proceeds from the sale.
— Payment is not made until the gown sells.
